Fish Habitat & Riparian Stewardship Workshop:

The B.C. Wildlife Federation’s Fish Habitat Restoration and Education Program presents the Fish Habitat & Riparian Stewardship workshop, a free public event. Maintaining and restoring riparian and fish habitat is very important for the survival of fish, recharging ground water, flood protection, and supporting a diverse wildlife.

BCWF’s Fish Habitat & Riparian Stewardship workshop is a 2-day workshop that educates participants about fish habitat conservation and restoration techniques. The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Importance and traditional uses of the local area
  • Stream values and classification
  • Assessing stream quality and fish health
  • Riparian planting and invasive species control
  • Stream and fish passage improvements
  • Community involvement

Using a mix of hands-on and theoretical learning the Fish Habitat Restoration and Education Team will guide you through a series of walks, talks, and sampling techniques that’s are fun, educational and engaging.

TRANSPORTATION IS NOT PROVIDED. Please bring your own food, water and snacks. The BC Wildlife Federation reserves the right to postpone the workshop within a 24-hour period before the start time if advised to do so by partner groups or to follow Provincial Health Orders. Dress for the weather, the workshop will happen rain or shine.
