Kids join Myki the rainbow trout to discover the adventures fish face on their journey from egg to adult through an interactive virtual story board. This program includes a live feeding demonstration. Ages Level: 3 to 8 and accompanying adults

Participants learn about freshwater habitats, conservation and how to fish responsibly. Includes lessons on fish identification and biology, fishing techniques and equipment set-up, proper fish handling and casting. Age Level: Youth aged 5 to 15 and accompanying adults.

Participants learn about the importance of fishing lure color to improve their catch ratio while fishing. We will discuss how depth and water clarity may impact lure color decision. You will also have the opportunity to customize your own fishing lure.

Fly Fishing veteran Brian Smith will introduce participants to fly fishing and talk about some of his favorite flies to use in BC. Brian will demonstrate the tying of two flies, If you have your own fly tying gear feel free to follow along as he ties the two flies.

During this session we will discuss some of the fishing ethics, etiquette and talk about fishing regulations. During this session we will ask participants to talk about their experiences and share some knowledge on local ethics and etiquette to help beginner anglers.

Mike Stiles from Accessible Okanagan will be presenting on accessible fishing gear and techniques for peoples with disabilities. Fishing is an outdoor activity that can be enjoyed by people with diverse abilities. In today's day and age there is a vast variety of outdoor equipment available to increase the accessibility of fishing. Mike will be introducing some of this equipment during his session.
