KELOWNA – The greatest risk to the bighorn sheep population is other sheep. The provincial government suspected that contact between domestic and wild sheep is what caused 300 bighorns to die off in 1999, reducing the south Okanagan population by 65 per cent. The Wild Sheep Society of B.C. said the threat is far from over, alerting local farms and community members at a town hall meeting in Oliver on Thursday. Angela Jung reports.
